Privacy Policy

Version 2026-08-12-v2 · Effective Date: August 12, 2026

This Policy explains how DockItUp handles information for the Renter and Private Dock Owner marketplace.

1. Scope and Controller

This Privacy Policy applies to https://dockitup.app and related DockItUp services operated by SOFLO DOCK SLIPS LLC d/b/a DockItUp. It describes information handled for current Renter and Private Dock Owner features. A related dockitup.net domain may redirect to the Platform.

2. Information We Handle

Depending on how you use DockItUp, we may handle the following categories:

  • Account, contact, legal-name, role, profile, authentication-provider, and account-security information.
  • Identity-verification status and provider or session references. When a third-party identity provider retains identity documents, DockItUp generally stores status and reference information rather than the underlying government identity document.
  • Vessel specifications, names, photos, dimensions, shore-power information, and related profile data.
  • Renter insurance information, policy details, coverage amounts, expiration information, and private insurance documents.
  • Private Dock Owner property, listing, address, map-coordinate, availability, pricing, access, rule, and utility information.
  • Ownership or authorization documents, property-insurance documents, listing certifications, and review status.
  • Booking, arrival, departure, extension-status, and transaction-workflow information.
  • Agreements, electronic signatures, acceptance actions, timestamps, versions, hashes, and related evidence.
  • Payment, refund, tax, transfer, payout, dispute, chargeback, and processor references. Full payment-card details are handled by the payment processor rather than stored by DockItUp.
  • Platform messages, incident reports, attachments, evidence, support communications, and moderation or sanitization results.
  • IP address, user agent, device, login, security, audit, diagnostic, and usage information.
  • Saved searches, favorites, alerts, analytics events, and email or SMS delivery and consent records where those features are active.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from users, automatically from devices and Platform interactions, from authentication, identity, payment, communications, mapping, and security providers, and from other users when necessary to support a listing, booking, incident, or dispute workflow.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and secure accounts; operate listings, search, bookings, communications, agreements, payments, taxes, refunds, payouts, insurance-information workflows, arrival and departure workflows, incidents, support, and account closure; validate eligibility and Platform rules; prevent fraud, abuse, circumvention, and security incidents; maintain records; improve and analyze the Platform; communicate service information; enforce agreements; protect legal claims; and comply with law.

5. Insurance Information

Renter insurance proof is stored privately and may be made available through controlled access to the relevant Dock Owner for a booking where the product permits. DockItUp may use structured insurance details and documents for technical or eligibility checks, expiration workflows, support, and evidence preservation. DockItUp does not independently authenticate coverage with a carrier or guarantee coverage or claim payment.

6. Identity Verification

DockItUp may use a third-party identity-verification provider. The provider may collect identity documents, facial images, or other verification data under its own privacy terms. DockItUp may receive and retain verification status, session references, timestamps, and limited result information. DockItUp does not represent that it stores government identity documents retained by the third-party provider.

7. Location Information

We handle private-dock addresses, map coordinates, listing locations, and location-related booking, arrival, or departure information where applicable. We use this information for mapping, search, geocoding, timezone resolution, compatibility, booking operations, safety workflows, and support. Public listing presentation may use a less precise location than the private property address.

8. Communications and Moderation

Platform messages and submitted content are not categorically untouched. DockItUp may apply technical sanitization, automated or manual security and abuse controls, prohibited-contact or payment-circumvention controls, incident moderation, evidence preservation, and related Platform enforcement. DockItUp does not guarantee that every communication will be monitored or that every prohibited item will be detected or removed.

9. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to the relevant Renter or Dock Owner as needed for a listing, booking, agreement, arrival, departure, insurance-proof, incident, or support workflow; to service providers; to professional advisers; in a corporate transaction; to protect rights, safety, security, and the Platform; and where required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.

10. Service Providers

Service-provider categories may include payment and identity processing, authentication, hosting and infrastructure, private file storage, maps and geocoding, timezone resolution, email and SMS delivery, document security or scanning, analytics, fraud and security services, and customer support. Providers process information according to their services and applicable contracts and privacy terms.

11. Cookies and Analytics

DockItUp may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, routing, fraud prevention, performance, and analytics. Browser controls may affect functionality.

12. Retention

DockItUp retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose, including providing the Platform, completing and documenting transactions, maintaining agreements and acceptance evidence, preventing fraud and security abuse, processing payments, refunds, chargebacks and payouts, satisfying tax, accounting and legal requirements, enforcing agreements, resolving disputes, preserving legal claims, and fulfilling applicable privacy requests.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary and no applicable retention basis remains, it may be deleted or anonymized according to DockItUp’s applicable procedures. DockItUp does not represent that information has been anonymized unless that procedure was actually performed.

13. Account Closure and Privacy Deletion Requests

Closing an account deactivates Platform access and may archive eligible listings and vessels. It does not necessarily delete every associated record and does not necessarily delete the managed authentication identity.

A user may separately submit a privacy deletion request for eligible personal information. Deletion is subject to applicable legal, contractual, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, tax, transaction, dispute, and records-retention requirements and exceptions. Booking, payment, payout, agreement, signature, acceptance, incident, security, and audit evidence may be retained where a valid basis remains.

14. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or other privacy rights. We may verify identity and authority before responding. California-specific rights apply only where DockItUp is legally subject to those requirements; applicable California residents may have rights to know, correct, delete, opt out of covered sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and receive non-discriminatory treatment.

15. Security

DockItUp uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and Platform. No system or transmission is guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

16. Children

The Platform is not intended for children under eighteen. We do not knowingly permit children to create DockItUp accounts.

17. International and Third-Party Services

Information may be processed where DockItUp or its providers operate. Third-party services have their own privacy practices. Links to external services do not make DockItUp responsible for those services.

18. Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy and will identify the current version and effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the Platform or other appropriate channels. Where an updated legal bundle requires acknowledgment, DockItUp may request affirmative acknowledgment.

Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through the Contact page on https://dockitup.app.
