Payment timing

A request is not the same thing as a completed charge.

If the dock owner approves and the required payment succeeds, the amount due is collected under the booking payment schedule. Longer fixed-term stays may use scheduled installments rather than full-term prepayment.

01

Submit a request

Your booking request is sent for the applicable approval flow.

02

Approval and payment

When approval is required, payment is collected only after the booking moves into the required confirmation/payment step.

03

Stay details remain connected

The reservation keeps the applicable terms, payment status, messages, and arrival information together.

Private Dock cancellations

The timing changes the outcome.

The applicable cancellation policy is shown before booking and remains tied to the reservation afterward.

01

48+ hours before scheduled move-in

Refundable under the applicable policy

The current Private Dock cancellation policy provides a full refund of collected dock rent, applicable tax, and the DockItUp renter fee when cancellation occurs at least 48 hours before scheduled move-in.

02

Under 48 hours, before the frozen booking boundary

Partial retention can apply

The Dock Owner retains 25% of the first 30 booked days' dock rent. The renter receives 75% of that period plus any prepaid dock rent beyond day 30; tax and the renter fee are recalculated under the applicable policy.

03

At or after the frozen dock-local cancellation boundary

First 30 days protected

The first 30 booked days' dock rent and the renter fee are nonrefundable, subject to applicable law. Later unused prepaid periods follow the applicable post-move-in review workflow.

Arrival confirmation is operational evidence.

A renter can confirm arrival in the app. That record is separate from the booking's financial cancellation rules and does not by itself create a refund, cancel the booking, release inventory, or establish fault.

The policy shown for the booking controls.

Dock space is limited, and cancellation outcomes depend on timing and the terms attached to the reservation. If the dock owner cancels, the renter receives a full refund under the current Private Dock policy.
